  • ST. JOHNSVILLE — Students in grades 3-5 at David H. Robbins Elementary School got an early start giving thanks this holiday season.
Students gathered in the school auditorium on Nov. 20 to thank honored guests including school occupational therapist Dottie Brown, school nurse Jackie Lape, social worker Darlene Marchand-Clifford, speech pathologist Andrea Connery, principal Rebecca Marzeski and maintenance worker Terry Potoczny. The students also thanked the cafeteria staff with a round of applause.
Dina Brundage then read “America’s White Table,” a children’s story book by Margot Theis Raven, as her fifth grade students set a solitary table on the stage in honor of veterans across America who have and who have not returned home. The students also shared a Thanksgiving poem to remind everyone of all they have to be thankful for.
After the close of the program, students and guests dined in the upstairs hallway, where one long table was set for all to join together for a meal of Thanksgiving.
