COOPERSTOWN — Proceeds from the 2013 Bassett New Year’s Eve Gala, “Queen of Hearts,” will benefit the Bassett Heart Care Institute.
The annual benefit, hosted by the Friends of Bassett Healthcare Network, will take place at the Otesaga Hotel in Cooperstown, from 7 p.m. to 12:30 a.m.
The evening will feature cocktails and hors d’œuvres, a silent auction, a nonpareil dinner buffet, open bars, a midnight champagne toast and a fireworks extravaganza.
Gala chairs are Dr. John Kelley, division chief, cardiac surgery, and Dr. Patrick McNulty, division chief, cardiology. Tom Morgan, of Oneonta, will be the honored guest. Morgan, a syndicated columnist who formerly headed the Morgan McReynolds Group at Morgan Stanley Smith Barney in Oneonta, with his wife, Erna McReynolds, previously served as the spokesperson for the opening of the Bassett Heart Care Institute.
This year’s Adventures in Wonderland theme will play off images and tales from the children’s novel. Chez-zam, a theatrical group based in New York City, will keep guests moving on the dance floor while assuming the roles of Alice in Wonderland characters such as the White Rabbit, the Mad Hatter and Alice herself.
Reservations are $200 per person. Black tie is optional and valet parking is available. For more information, call the Friends Office at 607-547-3928, or log on to the Friends website, www.friendsofbassett.org.
