LITTLE FALLS — The new Bassett Heart Care Institute Clinic at Little Falls Hospital offers a variety of services to patients in regard to heart health, something officials said was lacking in the area.
“Thank you for being here, thank you for your support and thank you for recognizing the importance and significance of this expanded service in the Mohawk Valley,” said Michael Ogden, president and chief executive officer of Little Falls Hospital, at a ribbon cutting for the clinic Tuesday.
Ogden thanked Dr. Patrick McNulty, chief of the Bassett Heart Care Institute and chief of cardiology at Bassett Medical Center, and Dr. William Streck, president and chief executive officer of Bassett Medical Center, for their “shared vision and passion for expanded heart care.”
Ogden said the project “demonstrates the commitment to the mission we have here at Little Falls Hospital.”
The services now available through the clinic at Little Falls Hospital include treadmill stress testing, chemical stress testing, stress echocardiography, echocardiograms, EKGs, holter monitors, event recorders, clinic appointments and consultations, inpatient consultation and nuclear stress testing.
This clinic is a satellite site of the institute at Bassett Medical Center in Cooperstown.
“This project is an example of what Bassett does best,” said McNulty at the event.
McNulty said they now have a “wonderful connection” between the Little Falls and Cooperstown locations for Bassett.
An open house and tours of the new space were held along with the ribbon cutting. The renovated and expanded clinic includes a new patient waiting area, a private stress testing room, echo testing room and cardiology exam rooms on the second floor of the hospital.
The opening of the clinic is part of the $13 million renovation project going on at the hospital.
The Carrig and Feldmeier families were recognized before the ribbon cutting for their donations to the hospital for the clinic.
Bassett cardiology providers seeing patients at Little Falls Hospital are Dr. Zachary Huston, Dr. Daniel Katz, Dr. Mahmood Quereshey and physician’s assistant Christopher Bertino.
