  • FRANKFORT — One man was killed and another seriously injured following a rollover car accident Saturday morning in Frankfort, according to town police.
Joshua L. Rothstein, 27, of Utica, was pronounced dead at the scene, police said. He was a passenger in a car driven by Joseph A. Lasher, 26, of Utica, police said.
Lasher was driving a Toyota Camry west on Southside Road about 2:15 a.m. when he lost control and drove into a ditch, police said. The vehicle then started to roll and became airborne, striking several trees, police said.
Lasher was taken to St. Elizabeth Medical Center where he is listed in serious condition.
Both men were unresponsive when police arrived.
Unsafe speed contributed to the accident and charges are pending, police said.
An autopsy to determine the exact cause of Rothstein’s death was scheduled to take place Sunday.
The Town of Frankfort Police Department was assisted by the Herkimer County District Attorney’s Office, Herkimer County Coroner Harry Enea, The Village of Frankfort Police Department and the Village of Ilion Police Department. Further Information will be available at a later time.
