  • “Santa Claws,” a special event with Santa and the dinosaurs, will take place at the Herkimer Community Museum from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 16.
Herkimer County Community College students enrolled in the photographic technology program will be on hand to take photos of children with Santa. The cost is $5 per child.
The Herkimer Community Museum features replicas of fossils that trace the development of life on Earth up to the dinosaurs. Other replicas on display include a complete skull and six-inch teeth of a Tyrannosaurus Rex, and golden treasures that were hidden in King Tut’s tomb. Exhibits are provided by Herkimer County Community College in association with the International Museum Institute of New York.
The Herkimer Community Museum is located at 301 N. Prospect St. in Herkimer, adjacent to the Frank J. Basloe Library. For more information about the museum, visit www.herkimercommunitymuseum.com or call Daniel Sargent at 866-0300, ext. 8525.
