The monthly meeting of the St. Johnsville Business Girls took place on Nov. 4 at Cosmo’s.
The guest speaker for the evening will be Lesha Dolan, who spoke about the bakery she will open in St. Johnsville. Dolan, a lifelong resident of St. Johnsville, is opening the Bridge Street Bakery and Café. The bakery will offer many items, including bread, cookies, cake, pies and pastries. She will offer homemade pasta, like lasagna, ready to bake. The bakery will also serve breakfast and lunch.
The Bridge Street Bakery and Café is planning to open the weekend of Nov. 15 and will be open seven days a week. Dolan plans to offer gluten free items and some healthy choices.
She provided five cookie platters to be raffled to members. They were won by Laura Fontana, Janice McLauchlin, Denise LaCoppola, Margaret Thomas and Melissa Fried.
President Margaret Thomas welcomed five guests to the meeting besides Dolan. They were Melissa Fried, Valerie Dolan, Denise LaCoppola, Judy Weaver and Pat Briele.
The meeting had a Thanksgiving theme. Mary Lou Corso read the “Thought of the Day” about giving is loving. A turkey dinner with all the fixings, including apple pie, was served by Cosmo’s.
The December Committee members are Cathy Bellen, Florence Jarvis, Lois Thomas and Judy Swartz. Women who are not contacted are asked to call Cathy Bellen at 518-568-7969.
