William Knoblauch (Knobby), 66, of Boynton Beach, Fla., formerly of Dolgeville and Little Falls, passed away on Saturday, Sept. 28, 2013.
Bill was a 1965 graduate of Dolgeville Central School. He spent several years in the U.S. Army stationed in the U.S. and Germany, working as a machinist on tanks.
He relocated from the Mohawk Valley to Florida in the 1970s where he worked as a heavy equipment operator.
Bill would come back to the Mohawk Valley every November to visit family and friends during his “deer hunting” trips.
His local home was with his favorite Aunt Caroline, who was like a mother to him.
He had a quick wit, quiet demeanor and was tall in stature. Bill will be missed by all who loved him.
Bill is survived by his loving wife, Linda; and his stepson, Doug Sills and wife, Lori, of Florida. He is also survived by sister, Vivian and Paul Greenfield, dear cousins, Cathleen and Tom Lester, Claudia and Jan Schlichtmann and Colleen Stark; cousin, David Barragan; several nieces and nephews. He leaves behind friends Louis Schmidt, Ron Karla, Jimmy Allen and Randy Shields. He also leaves his devoted canine companion, Kody, whom he adopted from the shelter.
He was predeceased by his parents, Mary (Gnidica) and William Knoblauch, and also Aunt Caroline Barragan, and dear cousin, Daniel Barragan.
A private farewell will be held by family and friends.
