The Children’s Miracle Network Hospital at Faxton-St. Luke’s Healthcare received the Friend of the Knights Award from the Knights of St. John International St. Anthony of Padua Commandery No. 385 on Oct. 13.
CMN was honored for their heartfelt gratitude and unselfish dedication and loyalty to the Knights of St. John, as well as for their rich spirit of friendship and fairness, according to a news release.
“It was a great honor to accept this award from the Knights of St. John International,” said Andrea MacDiarmid, CMN coordinator at FSLH, in the releae. “They have been such an amazing supporter of CMN throughout the years and we are so grateful to have their continued support and partnership.”
In 2012, the CMN Hospitals across the country raised more than $290 million for local children’s hospitals. The money raised by FSLH stays in the local community and is used to purchase items from life-saving equipment to something as simple as a reclining chair to provide comfort to families as they rock their children to sleep during hospital stays, according to the release.
