  • BOYS' SOCCER: Lyme wins, plays at Poland Saturday

  • CHAUMONT, N.Y. — The Lyme Indians earned a shot at undefeated Poland by beating the Old Forge Eskimos 3-2 Thursday in Section III’s Class D playoffs.
    The teams were tied at 1 at halftime. Lyme (13-3-0) got a goal and two assists from Mark Parker and goals from Tanner Wiley and Nick Birchenough. Christian Sanford made four saves.
    Tyler Fenton and Dane Daiker scored for Old Forge (9-6-1) and John Gaffiney made 15 saves.
    The Indians travel to Poland to meet the defending sectional champions Saturday at 3 p.m.
