  • GIRLS' SOCCER: Canajoharie routs Hadley-Luzerne

  • CANAJOHARIE,N.Y. Jenelle Dillenbeck netted six goals Thursday when the Canajoharie Cougars routed Hadley-Luzerne 14-0 in the opening round of Section IIs Class C playoffs.
    The Cougars, seeded third, led 7-0 at halftime and added seven more goals in the second half.
    Jordyn Logan added two goals and two assists, Christina Towse scored twice, Ariannah Logan had a goal and two assists, and Morgan Gray had two assists for Canajoharie (14-3-0). Hannah Bowerman, Jordan Hammons and Morgan Koelbl each chipped in with a goal.
    Kaitlyn Ashline made 21 saves for Hadley-Luzerne (3-9-0), the lowest seed in the 14-team playoff field.
    Canajoharie is home again Tuesday for its quarterfinal match against Berlin.

    BERLIN, N.Y. Berlin scored four times in the second half and came from behind to beat Galways Golden Eagles 4-2 Thursday in Section IIs Class C playoffs.
    Galway (8-9-0) led 2-0 at halftime on goals scored by Erica Chase and Felicia Snyder.
    The sixth-seeded Mountaineers (13-3-1) got a pair of goals from Jewel Pietryk and one each from K.C. Gosse and Maggie Gordon after the break.
    Jodi Thomas made 10 saves for Berlin while Lindsey Naughton had 17 for the Golden Eagles.
