  • 43 attend Senior Saints meeting

  • President Tom Croce called the Oct. 9 St. Johnsville Senior Saints meeting to order with 43 members present.
    Vice President Stella Bull led the group in reciting the Lord’s Prayer and Pledge to the Flag. The secretary’s and treasurer’s report were given and accepted.
    Nine blood pressures were taken and the group was reminded by Croce a volunteer is needed to work with Cres Smith taking and recording blood pressures. Anyone interested in volunteering is asked to contact Smith or Croce.
    The travel report was given by Grace Archambault. She has planned a “Mystery Trip” on Dec. 3 and an Albany shopping trip on Dec. 9.
    The sunshine report was given by Sally Thomson. She said one card was sent out and a thank you note was read from Lee Gutowski who is feeling better and was back with the Saints.
    Barb Croce gave the activities report announcing Margaret DiGiacomo and Joyce Giarrizzo as the 50-50 winners. Each won an $8 prize. Barb Croce also entertained with an exercise story, then announced there would be bingo games after the meeting.
    An announcement was made that yearly dues of $5 were due at the meeting.
    Loraine Thomas and Nancy Swank were thanked for baking cupcakes to help the club celebrate October birthdays.
    A board of directors meeting immediately after adjournment was requested by President Crose and the meeting was adjourned.
    The next meeting of the Senior Saints will take place on Oct. 23. Representatives from the Montgomery County Nursing Association will be the guest speakers.
    New members and guests are welcome to come visit and join Senior Saints meetings at the St. Johnsville Community House on Washington Street.
