AWANA has begun for the season in Little Falls. The Bible club is sponsored by the First Baptist Church of Little Falls and any and all children ages 3 through sixth grade are welcome to attend no matter of church affiliation.
The Cubbies are ages 3 and 4 with director Barb Hartness, the Sparks are kindergarten through second grade with Barb Lamphere as director and the TNT Club is for third through sixth grade students with Ginger Countryman as director. Commander Russ Winkler and his co-commander and secretary Jenn Winkler make AWANA not only a learning adventure, but a fun club as well, according to a news release.
The evening includes game time, handbook time, counsel time and snack time.
The club is currently participating in the Great Shakeup, where they members learn to shake up their world and invite other friends to come to club and be involved.
AWANA meets at Mohawk Valley Christian Academy in Little Falls each Sunday from 4:15 to 6:30 p.m.
TNT member Mary Rose Hight worked hard over the summer to finish her book and became the first book award winner of the new club season. She earned the Ultimate Challenge 1 award.
Double Edge is the teen group for grades 7 to 12 that meets each week at the same time at the Little Falls Family YMCA.
This year, AWANA has been extended to include a Trek group, for grades 7 and 8, which also meets at the same time at the YMCA. This gives the graduates from AWANA a chance to go further in the program. Trek is led by Pat and Kate Wolfe.
