  • GIRLS' SOCCER ROUNDUP: Romeyn scores both goals in O-E-St. Johnsville victory

  • ST. JOHNSVILLE, N.Y. — Alexis Romeyn scored both goals Wednesday in the Oppenheim-Ephratah-St. Johnsville Wolves’ 2-0 win over the Northville Falcons.
    Leann Clark made eight saves for the Wolves (12-3-1, 9-2-0 WAC), ranked 13th in the state in Class D, and Addie Brundage and Jessi Hagadorn each assisted on one of Romeyn’s goals.
    Taylor Fancher made 16 saves for Northville.

    DOLGEVILLE, N.Y. — Sarah George scored two goals and Mikey Rubas had three assists Wednesday in the Dolgeville Blue Devils’ 4-3 victory over the Cooperstown Hawkeyes.
    Emilie Lewandowski added a goal and an assist for the Blue Devils (7-8-1, 4-5-1 CSC-II) who won their final three regular season matches. Courtney Rachon added a goal and Joslin Null had an assist.
    Liz Millea and Jordian Siver each had one goal and one assist for Cooperstown (6-3-1, 4-3-1 CSC-II) and Jenny Flynn scored a goal.
    Katie Millard made seven saves for Dolgeville while Katie Kleban had nine for Cooperstown.

    POLAND, N.Y. — The Poland Tornadoes closed their regular season Wednesday with a 6-0 shutout of the Old Forge Eskimos.
    Mikayla Blumenstock had three goals and an assist for Poland (14-2-0, 8-0-0 CSC-IV). Keara Blumenstock added a goal and an assist, Hannah Jolls and Tara Seigle each scored a goal, and Shiane Irwin, Jourdan Flansburg and Kara Morrison all had assists. Courtney Green made three saves in the shutout.
    Shelby Egnaczyk made 15 saves for Old Forge (6-5-2, 2-4-1 CSC-IV).

    WEST WINFIELD, N.Y. — The Sauquoit Valley Indians beat Mt. Markham 1-0 in overtime Wednesday on a goal scored the 99th minutes.
    Abbey Mielnicki scored with 1:20 left to play in the second 10-minute period of extra time; Kelly Brennan assisted. Alyson Gaffney made four saves in the shutout for the Indians who outshot their hosts 32-7.
    Ellie Ainslie had 15 saves for the Mustangs.

    NEWPORT, N.Y. — The Frankfort-Schuyler Maroon Knights scored three goals in the second half to break away from a 1-all tie as they defeated the West Canada Valley Indians 4-1 Wednesday.
    Alexis Bianchi had three goals for the Maroon Knights (4-8-2, 3-4-2 CSC-II) and Emra Ljubijankic scored one. Olivia Tamburro had two assists and Cassandra Grippe made 12 saves.
    Joelle Ceneviva scored for West Canada Valley (2-13-0, 0-10-0 CSC-II). Olivia Bolton made eight saves and Kara Pepin had two.

    ORISKANY, N.Y. — Madison Zizzi scored three goals Wednesday in the Oriskany Redskins’ 9-3 win over Owen D. Young’s Wildcats.
    Page 2 of 2 - Jordan Sahl added two goals and an assist for Oriskany (8-6-1), Taylor Watson had a goal and an assist, Sara Murphy, Lexi Koons and Hannah Hoehn each scored a goal, and Breanna Bouska and Anna Buehler each made two saves.
    Kristy Hammont scored two goals and Victoria Treadwell had one for the Wildcats (0-9-0). Sara Manning made 18 saves.

    HOLLAND PATENT, N.Y. — Morgan Roller scored one goal and assisted on the other Wednesday in the Holland Patent Golden Knights’ 2-0 win over the Adirondack Wildcats.
    Katerena Waterman scored the other goal for the Golden Knights (6-8-0) who led 2-0 at halftime. Nikki Lupia Eannace made three saves in the shutout.
