  • The trustees of the Dolgeville-Manheim Historical Society will sponsor the program "Old Barns of Fairfield" on Tuesday, Oct. 22.
The program will begin after a business meeting of the historical society at 7 p.m. at the museum at 74 S. Main St., Dolgeville.
The program will be presented by Barbara Krazewski Voekle and Linda Crossett Robbins. The public is invited to attend. Refreshments will be served after the 30 minute program.
The museum's county summer help added several more slide shows that may be seen at facebook.com/DMHistorical. Also it was noted the museum could use the following Dolgeville Central School yearbooks: 1997,1998, 1999 and 2001. Anyone willing to donate these yearbooks to the museum collection may call Bob Maxwell at 429-8574.
Local residents continue to donate memorabilia and artifacts to the museum. Items are always appreciated. Recently, member Tim Rockwell came upon garage sale items of World War I era Dolgeville Republicans outlining participants from the area in the war along with articles of the day to day conflicts of the war. These, along with items from the estate of the late Grace Darling, have helped enhance the collections at the museum andwere graciously accepted.
In other business, the trustees announced the next regular meeting of the society will be a Christmas dinner and wassail party at Parkside Court in Dolgeville on Tuesday, Dec. 10, at 5:30 p.m. Reservations may be made with Bob Maxwell at 429-8574 or with Kathleen Ellis at 429-9439 by Dec. 3.
Members and guests are asked to bring items and/or donations to the local food pantry to be used in the annual Christmas baskets provided to local residents.
