The St. Johnsville Chamber of Commerce recently announced it has awarded the village of St. Johnsville an annual grant of $1,000, which is earmarked for grant opportunities to either improve infrastructure of stimulate economic development within the village.
The grant is to be used for technical guidance for grant preparation for the benefit of St. Johnsville residents, according to a news release.
In order to obtain this annual grant, the village of St. Johnsville must establish a separate budget account that will only contain the contributions from the Chamber or from other donations specified for grant writing. Any money used for grant preparation, where a grant is eventually awarded, then the village will be required to reimburse the account.
To continue to receive the grant, the village must also provide the Chamber one audit report of the account per year.
The Chamber has decided to award the grant to create economic vitality. The Chamber works toward serving its members and business community to promote economic development activities.
