Members of the Salisbury Volunteer Fire Department responded to 14 calls in the month of September, with a combined response of 195 men and women and 32 hours.
The calls consisted of 10 emergency medical calls, two mutual aid calls, one investigation and one wires down.
October is Fire Prevention Month. This year's message is kitchen fire safety. Most house fires begin in the kitchen. Remember to keep a fire extinguisher close by and keep clothing and other combustibles away from cooking heat sources.
