William S. Agne, III, 59, of South Main Street, died unexpectedly on Oct. 12, 2013, at his home.
Mr. Agne was born on June 10, 1954 in Herkimer, a son of the late William S. and Elizabeth (Snyder) Agne. He graduated from West Canada Valley Central School. William was united in marriage with the former Becky Hardman in Spring Valley, Calif., in 2001. He retired in 2004 from Wonder Bread, Utica, and as an emergency medical technician at Kuyahoora Valley Ambulance Corps. Mr. Agne was a member of Newport Fire Company No. 4.
Survivors besides his wife of 11 years, Becky, include two children, William S. Agne IV and his companion, Michelle Brown, of Newport, and Angela M. Agne and her companion, Phil Blake, of Herkimer; three step-children, Jacquie and George Casler, of the home residence, and Brenda (Brian) Preble, of Alaska; six brothers and sisters, Jeanne (Alan) Daley, of Salisbury, Larry (Rita) Agne, of Newport, Mary (Robert) Schmidt, of Salisbury, Michael (Melissa) Agne, of Salisbury Center, Frances (Thomas) Sherwood, of Mohawk and Joanne (Jesse) Davis, of Fairfield; seven grandchildren, Jacob Ziegler, Savannah Blake, Alysih Agne, Alexander Grogan, and step-grandchildren Luna, Lilly and Lyra Prebble; and several nieces nephews and cousins. William was predeceased by a brother, Gary W. Agne.
In accordance to Bill’s wishes a celebration of life will take place at Newport Volunteer Fire Company No. 4 on Friday, Oct. 18, from 5 to 8 p.m. There will be no calling hours or funeral service.
