  • Ralph L. Colorito, Sr., age 82, born July 20, 1931, in St. Johnsville, died Sept. 20, 2013, in Austin, Texas, where he lived for over 34 years. Formerly, he lived in the Pittsburgh area for over 25 years.
    He is survived by his wife of 25 years, Sonia O. Colorito, and his two children from a previous marriage, son, Ralph L. Colorito, Jr., and his wife, Patricia, and daughter, Laura Rose Legnine, all of Pittsburgh, Pa.; and his sister, Florence LaPorta and her family, of Schenectady. He is also survived by grandchildren, Angela Renee Colorito, Regina Rose Colorito, Steven Legnine and his wife, Michelle, and Tony Legnine and his wife, Janice; five great-grandchildren; Sonia’s children, Dr. Rodney B. Ashworth and Karen G. Ashworth and their families; as well as numerous relatives and friends in the United States and Italy.
    He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Rose Colorito; brother, Raffaele; and sister, Celia Donadio.
    Ralph will be remembered for his integrity, direct honesty, encouraging words, generous spirit, enthusiasm for life and love of family and friends. His family is enormously grateful for the love, kindness and support from so many family members and friends during his illness.
    At Ralph’s request, he will be cremated and no funeral services will be held. A reception in his honor is being planned. His ashes will be interred at the Ligonier Valley Cemetery, Ligonier, Pa.
    In lieu of flowers and traditional remembrances, donations may be made in Ralph’s name to the Margaret Reaney Memorial Library, 19 Kingsbury Ave., St. Johnsville, NY 13452, or to your favorite charity.
