  • Ryan P. Tennant, 42, of Dolgeville, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday evening, Oct. 6, 2013, at St. Elizabeth Medical Center in Utica.
    He was born on March 22, 1971, in Little Falls, a son of Vaughn and Patricia (Leon) Tennant. Ryan attended Dolgeville Central School and graduated with the class of 1990.
    On Aug. 22, 1997, Ryan was united in marriage to Tammy L. Knapp at a ceremony in Oppenheim. The couple shared a loving relationship and was inseparable. During their 16 year marriage, they liked to travel throughout New York, go to Chinese auctions, have cook outs, hunting, being outdoors and enjoyed each others company.
    Ryan was employed by Gehring Tricot in Dolgeville for the last 20 years. He was a member of the Dolgeville Fire Department and Auxiliary as well as the Dolgeville Rod and Gun Club.
    Ryan was a devoted husband, caring person and one of the kindest people you could meet. He had a great sense of humor and always left his friends with a smile. Ryan will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
    He is survived by his beloved wife, Tammy L. Tennant, at home; his parents, Patricia and Vaughn Tennant, of Webster, Mass.; five brothers, Rick Sebastian and his wife, Katie, of Clayville, Randy Tennant and his companion, Rosa LaValley, of Dolgeville, Rob Tennant and his wife, Emma, of Thompson, Conn., Rodney Tennant, of Illinois, and Dan Tennant, of Amsterdam; father-in-law, Grant Knapp, of Dolgeville; sister-in-law, Violet Bienkowski and her husband, Benny, of Dolgeville; brothers-in-law, Grant Knapp, Jr., of Orlando, Fla., and Shawn Knapp and his wife, Kim, of Dolgeville; special niece, Raelyn Knapp; special great-nieces, Saydee and Madison; special friends, Cory Decker and his wife, Fallon, and Justin Gardner; and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins and friends.
    Calling hours will be held on Thursday, Oct. 10, 2013, from 5 to 8 p.m. at Miller-Plonka Funeral Home, 30 Wolf St., Dolgeville. The Dolgeville Fire Department will hold a prayer service at 6:30 p.m. A funeral service will be held on Friday, Oct. 11, 2013, at 1:30 p.m. at the funeral home. Relatives and friends are invited to share memories of Ryan during this time to celebrate his life. Burial will take place in Stratford Cemetery, town of Stratford.
