  • Rocco J. Lamanna, 68, beloved husband of the late Beverly (Kissner) Lamanna, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, Oct. 2, 2013, at St. Luke’s Hospital, New Hartford, with his loving family by his side.
    He was born on Sept. 20, 1945, in Port Reading, N.J., the son of the late Paul A. and Assunda (Sue) (Coppola) Lamanna. Rocco was a graduate of Little Falls High School, class of 1963, and furthered his education with two years at Utica School of Commerce and four years at Empire State.
    His marriage to Beverly A. Kissner took place on Sept. 7, 1974 at St. Mary’s Church in Little Falls by Reverend Barker. The couple shared a blessed and devoted union of 37 years until the passing of Bev on March 8, 2012.
    Mr. Lamanna was a Vietnam Army veteran, enlisting on July 5, 1967 and was honorably discharged on June 18, 1969 with the rank of SP5.
    Rocco was last employed at the former Curtains & Fabrics in East Herkimer as a production manager, retiring in 2005. For several years he was employed at the former Salada Tea Company now known as (Redco). He held the position of supervisor until being promoted to president.
    He was a lifelong communicate of the Holy Family Parish in Little Falls.
    Rocco was a true gentleman who loved being in the company of family and friends. He was very proud of his family, and their accomplishments. He was a devoted father and grandfather who loved spending time with his family.
    Survivors include two sons, Rocco (Rick) J. Lamanna, II and wife, Becky, of Saratoga Springs, and Joseph Lamanna and wife, Sara, of Herkimer; his cherished grandchildren, Jacob, Nicholas, Rocco J. Lamanna, III and Luke Lamanna; two brothers, Frank Lamanna and wife, Karen, of Hall, and Ralph Lamanna and wife, Judi, of Warsaw; in-laws, George Kissner and wife, Vita, of Wesley Chapel, Fla., and Valerie Herringshaw and husband, Stanley, of Mohawk; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
    Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Vincent A. Enea Funeral Service, 329 S. Washington St., Herkimer, 866-1500. Funeral services will be held on Monday, Oct. 7, 2013 at 10 a.m. from the Petykiewicz, Iocovozzi and Burns Funeral Home, 329 S. Washington St., Herkimer, and at 11 a.m. from Holy Family Parish, Little Falls, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Reverend Thomas Lawless, pastor. Burial will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery, town of Herkimer, with full military honors accorded. Friends and relatives may call at the funeral home on Sunday, Oct. 6, 2013 from 4 to 8 p.m.
