  • FIELD HOCKEY ROUNDUP: Camden wins with shutout

  • CAMDEN, N.Y. — The Camden Blue Devils scored five goals in the first half Monday on the way to a 7-0 win over the Little Falls Mounties.
    Amanda Relyea scored three goals to lead the charge for the Blue Devils (7-3-1). Sid McGowan had a goal and three assists, Kendra Walker had two goals and an assist, and Abby Meagher added a goal and an assist. Emily Collins made nine saves.
    Goalie Kristi Torres made 17 saves for Little Falls (6-3-0).
    The Mounties play under the Veterans Memorial Park lights Wednesday against Herkimer.

    NEW HARTFORD, N.Y. — Rachel Cooke scored late in the second half Monday and the New Hartford Spartans were 1-0 winners over the Herkimer Magicians.
    Mackenzie Holbert made three saves in the shutout for the Spartans (4-2-3).
    Samantha Spanfelner made six saves for Herkimer (5-3-1).
    The Magicians play in Little Falls Wednesday.
    CENTRAL VALLEY ACADEMY 2
    ONEIDA 0
    ONEIDA, N.Y. — Two goals in the second half gave the Central Valley Academy Thunder a 2-0 win over the Oneida Indians.
    Nikki Pickett and Paige Rowland scored for the Thunder (4-6-0). Chloie Rood contributed an assist and Jackie Olmstead was credited with a single save in the shutout.
    Chelsea Marshall made 13 saves for Oneida (1-8-0).
    Central Valley Academy takes on Clinton at home Friday.

    MT. MARKHAM 0
    WEST WINFIELD, N.Y. — Alyssa Giardino scored a goal in the second half for Holland Patent Monday and the Golden Knights defeated the Mt. Markham Mustangs 1-0.
    Leanna Newland made seven saves in the shutout for the Golden Knights (7-1-1).
    Makayla Cool was credited with two saves for the Mustangs (3-3-3).
    Mt. Markham plays Wednesday at Clinton.
