  • Bug Country’s annual H.A.L.O. Hoedown is Oct. 6

  • Bug Country will host the fifth annual H.A.L.O. Hoedown at noon on Sunday, Oct. 6, at the Silverado Inn, Herkimer.
    One hundred percent of the proceeds will benefit Helping Animals Live Organization, a no-kill, no-cage cat shelter in Little Falls.
    Six musical acts — Grit ‘n’ Grace, T.J. Sacco, American Honey Band, Mutt Farm, Todd Storing and Liz DeSanctis — will play throughout afternoon, with catered food by Delectable Dishes Catering, door prizes, a Chinese auction and raffles. Additionally, Spaven’s Bounce Houses will provide a free bounce house and free Chobani Greek yogurt will be available while supplies last.
    A&P Master Images has provided commemorative T-shirts which H.A.L.O. will sell for $10 at the Hoedown.
    Tickets will be available at the door. Admission will be $6, with children 10 years of age and younger admitted free of charge.
    The event will take place outside, weather permitting, and will move inside if there is bad weahter. Attendees are asked to bring a lawn chair or blanket. Donations of Friskie dry or canned cat food and cat litter will be appreciated.
