Several people suffered minor injuries after an accident involving an ambulance on State Street in the village of Herkimer around 7 p.m. Sunday.
Herkimer Deputy Fire Chief Jim Woodrick said a MOVAC ambulance was headed west on State Street to transport a patient with a non-life threatening condition to a hospital.
Woodrick said the driver of another motor vehicle on State Street attempted to make a left turn onto North Bellinger Street, when it collided with the ambulance.
The patient inside the ambulance was taken to St. Luke’s Hospital. The two MOVAC personnel inside the ambulance went on their own to a hospital.
Three of the four passengers inside the other motor vehicle were transported to a hospital for review for minor injuries.
The fourth passenger signed off on going to the hospital for review.
Herkimer police said a ticket was issued to the driver of the car for failure to yield the right-of-way, but the name was unavailable for release on Monday.
