  • BOYS' SOCCER ROUNDUP: Back-to-back wins for Canajoharie

  • CANAJOHARIE, N.Y. — Elijah Bowley had a hat trick for Canajoharie Friday in the Cougars’ 5-0 win over the Sharon Springs Spartans.
    Logan Sala scored two goals to go with Bowley’s three for the Cougars (2-6-0) who won their second match in a row. Sam May had two assists and Zachary Young made eight saves in the shutout.
    Donovan Roberts made 10 saves for Sharon Springs.
    The Cougars play at Schoharie Monday.

    NEWPORT, N.Y. — The Holland Patent Golden Knights broke a tie in the second half Friday and defeated West Canada Valley’s Indians 2-1.
    Eric Miller and Roy Garrett scored for the Golden Knights (6-1-0) and Dylan Blier had an assist.
    George Youngs scored in the first half for the Indians (5-3-1). Michael Sternberg made 16 saves.
    West Canada Valley plays Monday at Old Forge.

    COOPERSTOWN, N.Y. — Park Summers scored three goals and assisted on one for Cooperstown Friday when the Hawkeyes defeated Little Falls’ Mounties 10-0.
    Jordan Manikas and Lyman Townsend each had a goal and an assist, Jack Donnelly had two assists, and Max Clinton, Tanner Clinton, Christian Seppuku and Yotse Dori each scored a goal for Cooperstown (4-2-0).
    Cole Douglas was credited with six saves for Little Falls (0-7-1).
    The Mounties play Monday at Westmoreland.

    FORT PLAIN, N.Y. — Matt Meisenholder scored in the second half Friday and the Mekeel Christian Academy Lions defeated the Fort Plain Hilltoppers 1-0.
    Jordan Ahlquist assisted on Meisenholder’s goal.
    The Hilltoppers (2-7-0) take on Galway at home Wednesday.
