  • The Canajoharie Library will offer a four-part flash fiction writing class for novice and intermediate writers. The series will start on Oct. 1 and run each Tuesday from 1 to 3 p.m. through Oct. 22.
Naton Leslie will build on the writing programs he has led at the library. Flash fiction is a hybrid between a short story and a poem, a story boiled down to its essence and generally under 1,000 words. All aspects of writing flash fiction will be explored, from sourcing material to shaping and producing finished work. The course will offer new and experienced writers a range of creative ideas and activities.
Leslie’s work has been anthologized in Best American Essays. The recipient of numerous awards, including fellowships from the National Endowment for the Arts and the New York Foundation for the Arts, Leslie teaches writing and literature at Siena College.
Attendance at all parts is required to sign-up. Register online at http://www.canajoharielibrary.org/adult-programs.html or by calling the library at 518-673-2314.
