  • A former Utica man currently incarcerated in the Otsego County jail faces new charges after he allegedly assaulted a fellow inmate, the Otsego County Sheriff's Office said.
Michael Palladino, 50, formerly of Utica and Oneonta, is charged with felony second-degree assault for allegedly punching another man in the face on Sept. 18, deputies said.
Palladino was issued a ticket to return to Middlefield court next month before he was transferred to a state prison in Elmira on Thursday as part of his sentence for a drug conviction, deputies said.
Palladino has four prior felony convictions and faces up to 15 years to life in prison if convicted on the new assault charge, deputies said.
