  • GIRLS' TENNIS: Unbeaten Indians defeat Little Falls

  • SAUQUOIT, N.Y. — Sauquoit Valley’s singles players were all straight-sets winners Tuesday and the Indians kept their record perfect with a 3-2 win over the Little Falls Mounties.
    Ella Brutsky, Dana Bever and Tanya Brutsky, playing first through third singles, respectively, lost a total of three games in singles play.
    Little Falls’ doubles teams flipped the results and picked up two points for the Mounties. Trisha Shaffer and Lindsey Tolman dropped their first set but came back to beat Maiah DeGironimo and Rena Topor 4-6, 6-3, 6-1. Elizabeth Simonelli and Emilee Burleigh beat Kira Baran and Megan Moran 6-3, 6-4.
    Little Falls will play a doubleheader Thursday at the Veterans Memorial Park courts Thursday against Clinton. The teams will be making up a match that was postponed Sept. 11 in Clinton.

    1, Ella Brutsky (Sauquoit Valley) defeated Elaine Zawtocki (Little Falls), 6-1, 6-0.
    2, Dana Bever (Sauquoit Valley) defeated Sienna Caracane (Little Falls), 6-0, 6-0.
    3, Tanya Brutsky (Sauquoit Valley) defeated Samantha Ackerman (Little Falls), 6-0, 6-2.
    Doubles
    1, Trisha Shaffer and Lindsey Tolman (Little Falls) defeated Maiah DeGironimo and Rena Topor (Sauquoit Valley), 4-6, 6-3, 6-1.
    2, Elizabeth Simonelli and Emilee Burleigh (Little Falls) defeated Kira Baran and Megan Moran (Sauquoit Valley), 6-3, 6-4.
