The town of Danube will conduct a trash cleanup for the residents of the town on Friday, Oct. 11, from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. and Saturday, Oct. 12, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the town garage, 438 Creek Rd.
Household garbage, liquids including gasoline, oil and antifreeze, empty or full paint cans, pesticides, chemicals, hazardous materials, batteries, propane or other gas tanks and recyclables will not be accepted.
Tires not on rims will be accepted at a cost of $2 per tire for tires up to 17 inches, $10 per tire for tires 17.5 inches to 22.5 inches and $50 per tire for a rear tractor tire. Everyone is asked to have correct change for tires. A personal check payable to the town of Danube for the amount will also be accepted.
Bags of clean, usable clothing will be accepted, set aside and given to a clothing charity.
The cleanup is open to any and all residents of the town of Danube. Individuals will be asked to sign a registration book each time they deliver something verifying they are a town of Danube resident and the trash they leave is from the town of Danube.
Residents will be expected to remove the articles they wish to dispose of from their vehicle to prevent damage to the vehicle.
Trash is not to be left after the designated hours as this could result in canceling any future cleanup dates for the town.
