  • POLAND, N.Y. — The Poland Tornadoes tallied three goals in the opening six minutes of Saturday’s 9-0 win against the Herkimer Magicians.
    Mark Hennings notched three goals and two assists to lead the charge for Poland (4-0-0) and Ross Agen added two goals. Mike Sypolt had a goal and an assist, Cameron Tabor, Zach Gauthier and Dustin DuBrule each scored a goal and Finn Morrissey, who made three saves in the shutout, contributed an assist.
    Tucker Vogt made eight saves and Dan Netti had seven for Herkimer (1-4-1).
    The Magicians take on West Canada Valley at home Monday while Poland has a match against Little Falls.
    WEST WINFIELD, N.Y. — Emerald Knight Brian Meeks scored a pair of goals in the second half of Hamilton’s 2-0 win against the Mt. Markham Mustangs Saturday.
    Both teams were scoreless at halftime but Meeks broke the tie with his two goals as undefeated Hamilton (3-0-0) outshot its hosts by a wide margin. Dakota Thomas assisted on one of the goals.
    Tyler Curtis had two saves in the shutout while Mike Gras made 24 stops for Mt. Markham (1-4-0).
    The Mustangs’ next match is Wednesday in Remsen.
