The Little Falls Family YMCA Youth Center will open on Monday, Sept. 23.
The program provides a variety of activities and facility use for students in grades 2 to 9, including a supervised gym program on Mondays from 3 to 4:30 p.m. and Wednesdays and Fridays from 3 to 5 p.m. A supervised swim, with certified lifeguard, is provided on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 4 to 4:45 p.m. The swim program is open to youth in grades 2 and older who are able to swim.
The gym is available for use by students in grades 10 to 12 on Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays from 5 to 7 p.m. and Saturdays from 9 a.m. to noon. Availability may vary seasonally; depending on program needs and scheduled use. Participants are asked to check the front desk for weekly schedules.
The YMCA game room is available to youth in grades 2 to 9 on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 3 to 5 p.m. and youth in grades 10 to 12 on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 5 to 6 p.m.
The weight room, nautilus and track areas are open to youth in grades 10 to 12 Monday through Friday from 3 to 7 p.m. and Saturday from 10 a.m. to noon. Youth in grades 7 to 9 may use the weight room, track and nautilus areas Monday through Friday from 3 to 5 p.m. with an orientation, staff approval and appropriate supervision. The Little Falls Family YMCA Youth Center program is free of charge to youth in the Little Falls City School District and offered in partnership with the city of Little Falls and the state Office of Children and Family Services through the Herkimer County Youth Bureau.
