  • GIRLS' SOCCER ROUNDUP: Little Falls extends shutout streak

  • LITTLE FALLS, N.Y. — Every senior Mountie scored at least one goal Monday in Little Falls’ 12-0 victory over Owen D. Young’s Wildcdats.
    The Mounties (3-0-0) remain unscored upon through three matches as Cheyenne Rivenburg (two saves) and Caira Miles (four) combined on the shutout.
    Sarah Bruins had a hat trick before halftime, contributing three of the seven Mountie goals before the intermission; she also had an assist. Kelli Shepardson added two goals and an assist, Miranda Marchese had a goal and three assists, Nicole Foti had a goal and two assists, and Gen Schoff, Shelby Creater, Laura Krowicki and Emily Lewis and Casey Baumeister each scored a goal.
    Sara Manning made 28 saves for Owen D. Young which is returning to action after not fielding a varsity team in 2012.
    The Mounties play Wednesday at Cooperstown. Owen D. Young is home Wednesday for its match against Old Forge.
    COOPERSTOWN 4, MT. MARKHAM 1
    COOPERSTOWN, N.Y. — Maggie Hall and Liz Millea split up the scoring for Cooperstown Monday in the Redskins’ 4-1 win against the Mt. Markham Mustangs.
    Hall and Millea each had two goals and assisted on each other’s; Jordian Siver also contributed an assist for the Redskins (2-0-0) who led 3-0 at halftime. Katie Kleban made eight saves.
    Hannah Barrett scored for Mt. Markham (0-2-1) with an assist from Heather Curtin. Machaela Carnegie recorded 10 saves.
    The Mustangs take on Waterville at home Wednesday.
    OPPENHEIM-EPHRATAH-ST. JOHNSVILLE 7, MAYFIELD 1
    ST. JOHNSVILLE, N.Y. — The Wolves of Oppenheim-Ephratah-St. Johnsville jumped ahead 5-0 in the first half Monday and defeated Mayfield’s Panthers 7-1.
    Abby Mosher tallied two goals in the first half for the Wolves. Addie Brundage had a goal and an assist, Alexis Romeyn, Skyler Viveros and Jessi Hagadorn each scored a goal and Hannah Taylor contributed three assists
    Julie Hampton scored in the second half for Mayfield (0-2-0) which was outshot 35-6.
    Leann Clark made four saves for Oppenheim-Ephratah-St. Johnsville (2-1-0). Mayfield goalkeepers Megan Frasier and Maria Messina combined for 19.
    The Wolves travel to Northville Wednesday.
    OLD FORGE 3, DOLGEVILLE 2
    WEBB, N.Y. — Melissa Rockhill scored twice for Old Forge Monday in the Eskimos’ 3-2 win over the Dolgeville Blue Devils.
    Sarah George scored both goals for Dolgeville (1-2-0), one with an assist from Courtney Normoyle. Katie Millard recorded five saves.
    Jordan Levi scored the other Old Forge goal and Shelby Egnaczyk made seven saves. The Eskimos are 1-0-0.
    Dolgeville is home Wednesday for a match against West Canada Valley.
    WATERVILLE 3, WEST CANADA VALLEY 1
    WATERVILLE, N.Y. — Hannah Gray scored all three Waterville goals Monday in the Indians’ 3-1 win against the West Canada Valley Indians.
    Page 2 of 2 - Shania McEvoy countered with a goal for West Canada Valley (1-2-0). Olivia Bolton made 13 saves.
    Cassie Perrin made 17 saves in the win for Waterville (2-1-0).
    Both teams were coming off runner-up finishes in their own tournaments over the weekend.
