  • Foster homes needed for kittens

    • email print
  • Although it may be the end of summer, kitten season is still in full swing and the calls from people who have litters of unwanted kittens seem endless.
This is how it feels for Faye Bunk and Andrea Heckel, volunteers for Helping Animals Live Organization, who receive many of the phone messages for the group.
It is heart rending to receive these calls with no avenue to help them because of the full capacity at H.A.L.O. House, the shelter the animal welfare group runs on Albany Street in Little Falls, according to a news release.
Foster homes can be a lifeline for these unwanted kittens that need a safe place to be fed, cared for and socialized until they can be adopted, according to the release. H.A.L.O. is seeking individuals who can temporarily provide a foster home until the kitten season has abated so they can be of assistance to these animals in need, sometimes in life threatening situations, according to the release.
For more information on how to help or about spay and neuter assistance programs, call Faye at 823-0239 or Andrea at 823-4680.
