James A. Humphrey, 71, of St. Johnsville, passed away Saturday, Sept. 7, 2013, at Mountain Valley Hospice, after a long fought battle with cancer.
Jim was born Sept. 28, 1941, in Ilion, the son of the late Alvey Humphrey and Edith (Ackley) Humphrey. He resided in the St. Johnsville and Fort Plain area his whole life.
Jim most recently worked for the village of St. Johnsville and formerly as a dairy farmer. He was an avid hunter who also enjoyed beekeeping and traveling with his wife. Above all, Jim was a loving family man who enjoyed spending time with his children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and friends.
Jim is survived by his wife of 33 years, Joan G. Humphrey; his sons, Donald, Paul and Jason Humphrey, Douglas and Craig Savage, and Gilbert Stevens; and his daughters, Judy (Humphrey) Barker and Connie (Humphrey) Couture. He is also survived by his sister, Beverly (Humphrey) Rowland, and many loving grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Per Jim’s wishes, there will be no funeral or burial services.
