State police are currently investigating a report that a dog might have been dragged to its death behind an all-terrain vehicle in the town of Danube last week, officials said.
State police in Herkimer were alerted to the incident on Friday, but Investigator Chad Tangorra said Wednesday they’re still trying to determine whether the incident occurred and whether a dog is dead.
“It came in as a third party report, and we’re just starting to look into it now,” Tangorra said.
In the meantime, the Facebook page Justice for Lainey posted a $1,000 reward is being offered for information leading to the arrest and conviction for anyone who committed this alleged act.
Anyone with information can contact state police at 866-7111 or the operator of Justice for Lainey at 794-6372, who will then forward any information to the authorities, according to the Facebook post.
