  • BOYS' SOCCER ROUNDUP: Little Falls beaten in tournament opener

  • WATERVILLE, N.Y. — The Waterville Indians earned a spot in the title match at their annual Brothertown Optimist Tournament by beating Little Falls 7-0 in Thursday’s opening round.
    Waterville plays for the tournament championship Saturday against Brookfield, a 7-0 winner over Herkimer. Little Falls meets Herkimer in the consolation match.
    Alex Nasypany and Anders Larson each had a goal and an assist for the Indians (2-1-0) who led 3-0 at halftime. Travis Jerczak, Austin Furner, Josh McNamara and Hans Smith each added a goal and Logan Fallon earned the shutout without recording a shutout.
    Cole Douglas made 20 saves for Little Falls (0-2-0).

    HERKIMER 0
    WATERVILLE, N.Y. — Jake Cowen scored four goals for Brookfield Thursday in the Beavers’ 4-0 win over the Herkimer Magicians in the opening round of Waterville’s Brothertown Optimist Tournament.
    Brookfield and Waterville will play for the tournament championship Saturday. Herkimer (1-1-0) meets Little Falls in the consolation match.
    Kevin Abrams added two goals and an assist for the Beavers Thursday and Tyler King scored the other goal. Justin Barber had two assists, Jake Smith and Austin Weeks had one each and goalie Cody Beeching made two saves in the shutout.
    Brookfield (1-0-0) led 4-0 at halftime.
