    • email print
  • The General Herkimer Days Committee will sponsor a golf tournament at the Little Falls Municipal Golf Course on Saturday, Sept. 14, to benefit the annual Holiday Pops Concert performed by the Symphony Syracuse on Dec. 6.
The fee per golfer - $65 for nonmembers and $55 for members - will include 18 holes of golf and a cart. The play is captain and crew with a shotgun start at 9 a.m. Registration will begin at 8 a.m. with coffee and pastries, snack on the turn and a chicken barbecue at the golf club after the tournament, as well as raffles and prizes for the golfers.
The musicians, who once were part of Symphony Syracuse, have reorganized as Musical Associates of Central New York, a musician-owned and operated orchestra. They are scheduled to perform the annual Holiday Pops Concert at 8 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 6, at Herkimer Junior-Senior High School. Conductor Sean O’Loughlin will return this year.
The 2013 Holiday Pops will perform for the seventh season. Organizers have worked to keep the concert an annual event; the golf tournament is a major fundraiser and provides the necessary upfront funds.
There is space open for foursomes and co-ed teams are welcome. For information call Katie Nichols at 866-1563 or Donna Merryman 866-3061.
