Mrs. Jennie C. Foster, 94, a resident of Parkside Court, 53 S. Main St., Dolgeville, died Sunday evening, Sept. 1, 2013, at her residence, with the love and support of her family at her side.
She was born in the town of Little Falls on Oct. 24, 1918, the daughter of Joseph and Mary (Marcewicz) Nalaskowski, and was educated in Eatonville schools.
Her marriage to Harry F. Foster, Sr. took place on Oct. 2, 1938, in the Baptist Church in Little Falls. Mr. Foster predeceased her on Feb. 26, 1996.
Mrs. Foster had been employed by the Little Frocks Dress Company of Little Falls and retired from the Daniel Green Company of Dolgeville in 1981.
She was a member of the former St. Michael’s Episcopal Church in Fairfield and Middleville, the Salisbury Center Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary and personally enjoyed bingo and gardening, especially flowers.
Surviving her are a son and his wife, Harry and Betty Foster, of Salisbury; her daughters and their husbands, Diane and Clinton Helms, of Las Vegas, Elaine and John Stanley, of Alaska, and Karen Borst and her companion, Stephen Prentice, of Freeville; a brother, William Nalaskowski, of Canadarago Lake; 19 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sons, James, on March 18, 2010, and Thomas, on Oct. 11, 1991; her great-grandchildren, Bradley Borst, John Stanley, IV and Jason Foster; a brother, Joseph; and her sisters, Helen Miller, Mary Pavalock, Stella Peteskovek, Bessie Golowicz and Lottie Mettot.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, Sept. 4, 2013, at 1 p.m. at the Roberts & Enea Funeral Home, 3 Faville Ave., Dolgeville. Rev. Joseph A. Famulare, of the Holy Trinity Lutheran Church of Little Falls, will officiate. Burial will follow in the Salisbury Rural Cemetery. Calling hours are on Wednesday from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m., when the service will begin.
