Charles W. Failing, age 70, of Fort Plain, passed away peacefully on Aug. 20, 2013, with his loving family by his side.
Charles was born on May 22, 1943, in the town of Minden, to the late George and Lula Failing. Charles enjoyed mowing his lawn and hunting. His biggest joy in life was his family, especially his grandchildren. Charles was employed for 34 years to the Local Union 35 as a laborer. Charles also served in the United States Army from 1962 to 1965.
Charles is survived by his loving wife, JoAnn Failing, who he was married to for the past 48 years. He is also survived by his children, Todd and Robin Failing, Timothy and Mariella Failing, Valicity Ann and Zane Spaulding and Treika and Tony Scarano; his grandchildren, Jovonna and Neil Kretser, Marcus Failing, Timothy and Nicole Failing, Joseph Kurcharski, Jr., Hunter Spaulding and Neiko and Lorenzo Scarano.
A memorial service will be held for family and friends at his residence on Aug. 31, 2013, from 2 to 5 p.m.
