WHAT DO YOU ENJOY MOST ABOUT YOUR SPORT?
I’ve grown up playing sports; they’re a part of who I am. Softball is my stress reliever. When I’m having a bad day, I just turn to softball. Sports teach valuable life lessons like aggressiveness, hard work, and respect. My teammates are my family and the friends you make during sports are incredible. I honestly can’t imagine my life without sports.
WHAT IS YOUR MOST MEMORABLE ATHLETIC MOMENT?
My most memorable athletic moment was during my junior year. We played a game under the lights and while on defense a batter tipped the ball in the air in front of the plate. I dove for the ball and caught it. It was an amazing feeling and my teammates were very excited about it. It wasn’t the game winning catch, but it was a hard play to make.
TELL US ABOUT SOMEONE WHO INSPIRES YOU IN SPORTS AND WHY.
My dad inspires me the most when it comes to sports. My dad not only buys all my sports equipment, but gives me that extra one-on-one help in the gym to make me a better player. He’s one of my number one supporters, right next to my mom, and he’s the loudest voice in the stands. I can always count on him for support and after game advice whenever I need it. I wouldn’t be the athlete I am today without him.
WHAT ARE YOUR GREATEST CHALLENGES BALANCING ACADEMICS AND SPORTS?
Balancing sports and academics can be a challenge at times, but not always. When you have far away or late night games, it’s hard to study or do your homework so I bring it with me on the bus sometimes. It’s all a part of being a scholar athlete.
WHAT ARE YOUR PLANS AFTER GRADUATING FROM HIGH SCHOOL?
I will be attending SUNY Delhi in the fall to major in veterinary technology.
