  • Donald R. Potter, 31, from the Town of Ohio, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, December 30, 2009, at his residence.

  • Donald R. Potter, 31, from the Town of Ohio, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, December 30, 2009, at his residence.
    Donald was born on May 1, 1978, a son of John and Shirley (Gober) Potter in New Hartford, NY. He attended Poland Central School. Donald worked for himself as a mechanic and logger.
    Donald was an avid hunter and fisherman. He was also a devoted son, brother, father, uncle and friend. He will be greatly missed by all that knew him.
    He is survived by his beloved children, Travis and Kayla Potter, of Herkimer; his parents, John and Shirley Potter, of Cold Brook, NY; his sisters, Stella Lanphere and her husband, Dale, of Dolgeville, Terri Farber and her husband, Chris, of Remsen, Janet Brusard, of New Hampshire, Dana Potter, of Dolgeville, and Jamie Potter and her fiancé, Mike Tobin, of Ilion; his brothers, William Potter and his wife, Sandy, of Remsen, Robert Potter and his wife, Tammy, of Remsen, and John Potter and his wife, Molly, of Remsen; 21 nieces and nephews as well as 19 great-nieces and nephews; and several aunts, uncles and cousins. Donald had many special friends, including his best friend and girlfriend, April Griffith and her son, Randy, who he loved so. He was predeceased by his loving brothers and sister, Arron Israel, James Potter and infant Julie Potter.
    There will be no calling hours and a private memorial service will be held at the Lanphere residence in Dolgeville. Inurnment will be held in Curtiss Corner’s Cemetery, Town of Salisbury, in the spring.
    Funeral arrangements are with Miller-Plonka Funeral Home, 30 Wolf Street, Dolgeville, NY.
