Explain what you enjoy most about your sport and athletics.
I love that sports allow me to work with my friends and compete against other schools. Competition is one of my most prominent traits. I enjoy football because it requires 10 people to work together for the success of one other person.
What is your most memorable athletic moment?
Breaking our school track record for the 800 meters is my most memorable athletic moment. I managed to finally break it in our sectional meet. I had come very close to beating it during the season, but a day with perfect weather did not arrive until sectionals. Warm weather and virtually nonexistant wind contributed greatly to my record-breaking run. I remember being both exhausted and accomplished. I had achieved a goal that I worked all season to reach.
Tell us about someone who inspires you in sports and why.
Chris Robotham who graduated from Dolgeville two years ago is a role model of sorts for me. His accomplishments on the field, on the court, and in the classroom inspire me to do well. He was a three-sport athlete, did very well in school, and was a very fun person to be around. I don't think Chris ever missed a practice. He always worked as hard as he could, putting forth his best effort in sports, in academics, and in life.
What are your greatest challenges balancing academics and sports?
Large projects can be difficult to find time to complete during sports seasons. Everyday homework assignments generally are not incredibly time-consuming, but projects requiring research and presentation are often a challenge to find time for.
What are your plans after graduating from high school?
I plan to attend Clarkson University or the Rochester Institute of Technology to study Software Engineering.
