In three sentences, explain what you enjoy most about your sport and
athletics.
What I enjoy most about athletics is the feeling of a close game and being in a loud gym. Having a full gym is definitely the most exciting part about playing any sport. When fans chant during games and are loud it helps us players out more than anyone could imagine, but unfortunately it was not really allowed at our home games this year.
What is your most memorable athletic moment?
My most memorable moment was my last game of my senior year. I scored my career high in points, and also sent the game into overtime at the buzzer with a baseline jumper. It was definitely the best way I could have ended my career, even though we did not win.
Tell us about someone who inspires you in sports and why
Jonny Flynn inspires me in sports because he was the type of person that plays the game and that’s it. He never really got into any trash talking matches or fights during his games. I really tried to model myself around his attitude during games, and I think it’s the best way to be.
What are your greatest challenges balancing academics and sports?
Academics always came first to me because unless I was going to be some type of LeBron James, academics are what was going to get me through life, not basketball. The only difficult thing was having a far away game in the middle of the week, and having to come home and do homework. Other than that it was pretty easy to balance.
What are your plans after graduating from high school?
After graduating I plan to attend MVCC for two years majoring in pre-dental studies. I will possibly play basketball for them, and then transfer. I’m not entirely sure where I want to transfer to finish my undergraduate studies. After that, I would like to go out of state to dental school.
